For Italians the table is often the center of life, the heart of the house around which the days revolve, just as the meal is a sacred moment to be celebrated, whenever possible, in the best possible way & therefore the association that celebrates the dishes of memory could only be born in Italy, or the Unione dei Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo, which for 57 years has promised a journey through the flavors, aromas and colors of Italian cuisine. 103 restaurants are part of the partnership, founded in the mid-1960s to safeguard and enhance the Italian regional cuisine Those who joined the Union assumed the commitment to practice a line of cuisine typical of the area and to always keep on the menu "a specialty" that had to be the most rigorous and exemplary representation and who consumed that specialty were given a hand-decorated plate by the artisans of a city of ceramics (Vietri sul Mare) which was to be the "good memory" of a tasting not to be forgotten. The dishes, which have become collectible, are still hand-decorated by the artisans of the Solimene Ceramics of Vietri sul Mare and are given to those who taste the Buon Ricordo Menu, a greedy excursus that each restaurateur creates to discover the flavors of his land, which obviously varies with the seasons, but in which the local specialty is always included, throughout the year.
