Artistic Tableware and Dinnerware Design

Studio Medea  ceramic tableware collection was born by the vision of our skilled artisan Patrizia. She lives in Sicily, between the sea of the Aeolian Islands and the city of Palermo. Filicudi for her is a perpetual source of inspiration and research.

Ceramic has always been her passion. Manual work and creativity have always accompanied Patrizia in every moment of her life. From a very young age, she exhibited her pottery and mugs in Milan, New York, Tokyo, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.

She started working again after a long period of inactivity with an independent artist-artisan studio. Each handmade ceramic is the result of her creativity. Her great passions are clay and the sea, which have always accompanied her throughout her life journey.
 

Filicudi is an accomplice of her life, it is a magical island that she loves madly and that she has always had inside with its colours, smells, infinite landscapes, sunsets, mule tracks, dry stone walls and ... it's sea, blue, green, azure, which makes you imagine an underwater worlds inhabited by marvellous fish, crabs, shells, dolphins that she turns into her amazing handmade pottery.

The sculptures she gave life to are imbued with our Sicily: the heads of the vendors, the jugs and the Mediterranean dishes. We are extremely proud to be able to import in Australia the collection of the “Venditori di Sicilia” that was born out of love for her city, Palermo, with its markets, its smells, its foods steeped in centuries of culture and history, which she tries to interpret in a contemporary and ironic way.

The table will not be finished without adding our beautiful 100% Italian cotton tablecloth range. Hand made in Italy using the ancient technique of block print which is the process of printing patterns by means of engraved wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process. It is, however, capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which are unobtainable by any other method.
